Children of Adam & Eve

Posted By Snow at 12/15/2009 5 comments

Sold at Bin Dawood. If I'm not mistaken, made in China (◠v◠)

The people I met in Mecca ...

If I were friendly, hajj would be more fantastic. Get to know my brother & sisters of all races. [Q49:13] I think if I were friendly, maybe we could take photos with people of all colors. [Q30:22] Still, at least I've conversed with some. The granny that blow kissed me - she has an Arab, Turkish look. A Pakistani auntie - understand no ... nehe (नहीं). An arab girl smiled as I said "shukran (شكرا)". The cashier counter guy said "Malaziya? (الماليزية)". Nod nod. "Saudi?" I should've said that, it could be funny. But I only had that idea afterwards. Ahahah ...

Language-wise, some pilgrims speak their own tongue as if I can even understand it.

Anyway, some Saudi shopkeepers actually speak Malay. الحمد لله (◠v◠)

All & all, seeing all races created by Allah SWT ... If anybody is still proposing beauty as a measure - I think my idea of handsome is now raised pretty high. As fate would have it, I saw a very handsome man sitting next to my bag at Safa. & that's why good deeds best defines a human, coz not all guys could look like him.

I did wish to ask, did the old man sleeping on cardboard has a great story to tell of his journey.

Strive!

Posted By Snow at 9/28/2009 4 comments

Have a heart for these positive cuties
Hope the have a cool Eid, they look gorgeous here (◠v◠)

I love the striving, it is endearing. [Q 17:19, 16:111] These kids strive a lot - they may have lost their parents, and living life with the virus - they deserve hugs, kisses & love! [Q89:17]

& Allah SWT revealed, good deeds is the best foundation for hope. [Q18:46] By destiny, yesterday I read this Quran verse "On those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, will (Allah) Most Gracious bestow love. [Q19:96]" & His love is the BEST!

My random surah is Ar-Rahmaan. Again. Be grateful, sweethearts.

Human Race (For Good Deeds)

Posted By Snow at 9/18/2009 0 comments

Tuanku Zara Salim at a pediatric hospital
What does it feels like to be mixed

I wish Zeti Akhtar, Zara Salim are famous. Mixed people are intriguing, aren't they. [Q35:27-28] & Anne Wojcicki [ref] has the tech to prove it. We're simply - destined to our genes. & they have the luck to have parents of different race falling in love.

Still in Islam, a human is equal except for deeds.
Verily your father is one, all of you is from Adam, and Adam is from dust. Verily the more noble among you to Allah is the one with more taqwa. And there is no superiority for an Arab over a non Arab except by taqwa.

from the Last Sermon of Prophet Muhammad
recited at Arafah during his Farewell Hajj
Our body is made of clay ولقد خلقنا الإنسان من سلالة من طين [Q23:12] and water. [Q25:24] I read our body's chemical compositions are mostly oxygen, hidrogen & carbon. So yes, mostly water. It's true. How did Rasul know!

Far Sight

Priceless

Men who I kinda look to these days... seems to have one thing in common. A father. A father dedicated to their upbringing. The Holy Quran tells the story of Luqman al-Hakim teaching his son. [Q31:13 | QA] It's so beautiful! Of course, there are men who have issues with their father but turns out excellent as well - like Abraham. [Q19:46 | QA] Either way, I enjoy seeing good men.

Though in this age where sperms can be recklessly abandoned; may I say this. Mankind will lose out if we follow lust & abandon something more priceless. Family. So guys. It only takes one sperm to become your child - a baby wondering who you are, where you are, do you love him. So please safeguard your egg seeking sperm, as it affects someone for his lifetime. If one says this is the age of lust, a man can't help it. Well... if the handsome Joseph can guard his purity, why not.

There is a long term value in a man keeping purity. When every child has a father & stable family, society will be stable God Wills. And even a strong man will grow old. One day, you may need your son to carry, feed, bath you. [Q30:54] Will you have someone on that day?

Anyway, I wonder if other men desires this. "... he felt so happy when his child grab on to his hand when they cross the street, that heroic feeling of being protective to this little precious human is... wow..." wrote on Sep 19, 2007. Do you think, if a man is serious he's happy you're pregnant; else he is darkened? Ladies having a loving husband & family welcoming her birthing is nicer.

Oh, & Abraham became a wonderful father! The patriach.

Experiencing The Blind

Posted By Snow at 8/15/2009 1 comments

C... A... N... T...
I can see it clearly honey, but I'm illiterate ha ha

I am now "blinded". My eye hurt so much, it feels like that time when I smell the roses & hurt my eye. I actually drive one eyed & it was pouring rain on the highway yesterday. Only by Allah's Mercy. (^v^)/

I'm on the verge of closing both eyes now. I tried experiencing what it feels to be blind. I'm afraid of knocking my head bumping into something. But the good part is, I don't see people ha ha. I only hear their voice, so I can't make assumptions of them. [Q49:12] I feel more peaceful. Seriously. I'm actually happy.

Is it easier to have a purer heart when you're blind? (^v^)

There's many story of the pious blind in Islam. Surah Abasa reminded Rasulullah when he frowned & turned away from the blind Abdullah. I don't know if Abdullah even see the frown in Rasulullah's face, but even so Allah SWT doesn't like it. Don't think it's a small matter. [SB8.76.499]

Allah SWT also promised Paradise to the blind who are patient. [SB7.70.557]

Food For Thought

Made with Love

My life has been repeating. Just like last year, this is the time I'm minding myself to eat 3 meals a day. I love to add weight. I'm trying to bring myself to my ideal weight, more so for Ramadhan. Coz in Ramadhan, I'll probably lose weight. I've been missing meals for months. So I'm now dedicating RM20 a day for food. (^9^)

~RM600 monthly just to feed myself. Honestly, I have no idea how the poor survive with a meager income & 6 kids to feed. & they're the ones who do manual labor. Someone should do a scientific study on their nutrition. How does their body survive. E=mc2 for the human body? (^-^)v

Anyway, I wonder if anybody so wealthy would want to start a free food cafeteria for the poor. "Or the giving of food in a day of hunger;" [Q 90:12-18] Maybe not one wealthy person, gosh we can't depend on a one man show. (^v^) More like the Food Not Bombs? Maybe our society could pool our resources & set up this free food cafeteria. Hotels, restaurants leftovers can be sent to the poor. We shouldn't waste food anyway, wasters are friends of Satan [Q 17:27]. I'm not being dramatic, it is serious [Q 107:1-3]. (^v^)

The mosque would be a good place to set it up, right?

Oh yes, Mosques. Love to be called the guest of God. (^v^)

On another note, I read the notification for Hajj this year regarding H1N1. Hmmmm... I don't know why, it feels I put more priority of the weather than a plague. (^v^) So. Do you think this year, there'll be less pilgrims? Anyway, Hajj is also about Festival of Sacrifice [Q 22:36-37] - muslims sacrifice meat to feed the poor. I remember I almost cried when the porridge is only spiced, no meat at all. I'm no Goldilock, even my blood tests showed it. Feeding (in moderation), it's a good thing. (^-^)v

Cozy Up

I'll miss you Maid
Whose going to clean & cook for us now

The Holy Quran says I'm poor. وأنتم الفقراء [Q47:38] (◠ v ◠)

If I can say it, I'm one of those people who have experienced sleeping in a hotel suite with lamb chops in bed; and sleeping at the mosque. The mosque is waaay less luxurious but still nice. (◠ - ◠)

Still, wouldn't it be nice to live in luxury. But yeah, if I have lamb chops in bed every time, there's risk of cardiovascular disease. Walking daily, like what poor people do is probably healthier. The human body is meant to work, right? [QA work]

Anyway, yesterday I feel so tired doing home chores after work. Still I'm so happy Fatima lived a hard life - I remember her saying how tired she was. She asked for a maid from Rasulullah (PBUH) but he won't give her. [SB4.53.344] Still, if I can, I'd love a maid who comes in without living in. Like the hotel room service. She'll work fixed time, with weekend off. Her agency trains & protects her - they're so professional, nobody looks down on their home keepers. "We have pride in what we do. We manage homes."

Of course, I never dealt with maids. So, I don't know. Still, I know coming home to relax, with everything ready & in place is splendid. That's why I prefer a cozy home. (~ v ~)

What Is Time

Posted By Snow at 6/13/2009 4 comments

Moon Phases

So. What is time. All our life we're measured by time. Our age, schedules, plans etc. Still remove clocks & calendars in our life, does time really exist? Why do we rush to time day in day out? Honestly I think I could cry when I look at the clock.

But even if we throw clocks away, we can see we're aging. & we can't stop that. So we must accept this as reality & we measure our age by time. We measure the days & nights of our existence by time. But what is time. On this planet, we measure our time by the movement of near objects - the sun, moon. [Q6:96] Muslims use the moon calendar & look to the baby moon for Ramadhan, Eid - similar to the Jews. Generally, we use the sun calendar which marks the position of the earth around the sun.

Both calendar have 12 months - amazingly marking one earth's revolution around the sun. It's fascinating. How did the ancient people decide it's 12 months for the earth to orbit the sun? Do they even know the earth orbits the sun?

The unit of "time" was measured by the rotation of the Earth. But it is now measured by the movement of cesium-133 atom. [atomic clock]
Still, that measure of time is for us on this planet. Imagine. If you ride a rocket & flew into deep space - what measure of time will it be? There's no Earth's sun & moon for your to look at. Maybe you'll take a clock. But throw that away. You just have you. & you are still aging. So how do you measure time now? Take your hand & feel your heartbeat. You physically exists as long as your heart beats. You age as your heart beats.

So this means, you yourself is your own clock

If I read right, even the whole universe is decaying. That's how scientists approximate its age. So the universe itself, has it's time. So will its strength, frails one day?
It is Allah who raised the heavens without pillars that you see, then He established Himself above the Throne. And He has subjected the sun and the moon, each running (its course) for a specified term. He regulates all affairs, explaining the signs in detail, that you may believe with certainty in the meeting with your Lord.
[Holy Quran 13:2]
The Holy Quran mentions time limit (أجل مسمى) many times. I'm amazed! (◠v◠) Anyway, I tried my best, may Allah SWT Guides me. & I hope I sound sane, coz they house arrested Galileo. Though Ibn Haitham had to feign insanity & the "crazy" man wrote the Book of Optics.

I seek refuge in Allah SWT from errors.
Only Allah SWT Knows Best.

Giving

Posted By Snow at 5/29/2009 0 comments

As a muslim, I love to learn from the muslim role models. So how to know a righteous man? Khadija, Princess of Quraish see good values in Muhammad Rasulullah, she said of him:
إنك لتصل الرحم، وتحمل الكل وتكسب المعدوم، وتقري الضيف، وتعين على نوائب الحق
You keep good relations with your Kith and kin, help the poor and the destitute, serve your guests generously and assist the deserving calamity-afflicted ones." [SB1.1.3]
A giving man. Isn't he charming!

A righteous giving man. Like the one Allah loves - Abraham. He was forbearing, tender-hearted, oft-returning (to Allah). [Q11:75] Allah SWT calls him Al Khalil. [Q4:125] & funny, Al Khalil sounds similar to Superman's real name Kalel. (◠v◠) Superman loves to help too.

Still he never asks anything in return. He loves purely because of Allah SWT. [SB9.85.74] When Moses first met his future wife, he watered her sheep. & then after helping, he prays to Allah for help. Look at him. He's desperately in need of help but didn't ask from her when he can, he's the one helping her & retreated to pray.

For sure, Allah SWT Helps him the best!

Making A Comet
Baby me will looooooooooooove this!!! (◠v◠)

When I was a kid, I found this cool experiment book. I love to try the experiments, but I have no resources & adult supervision. So I was a child in wonderment. I'm 29 now, & seeing Dr Amy Meinzer showing how to make a comet ... wow!

I remembered my childhood curiosity. (◠v◠)

Welcome
Peace be upon you
